About this event
Roger Guenveur Smith returns with this theatrical monologue inspired by the life and work of the self-liberated abolitionist, statesman and orator Frederick Douglass in his third PASA appearance. Using Douglass' classic 19th century texts, Smith has created a jazz-infused narrative, bookended by original, forceful writing to produce the kind of edgy stylistic mash-up of which vital contemporary theater is made. You’ll be moved!
