  • SchoolMint, a Lafayette-based educational tech company, announced on Monday that co-founder Jinal Jhaveri has resumed the CEO role after Bryan MacDonald moved to an advisory and investor position.   • A Lafayette-based investment group acquired Electronics Value Recovery Inc, a Baltimore-based company that specializes in electronic recycling and IT asset disposition, to boost its capacity nationwide. CULTURE NEWS

  • Lafayette’s MLK Holiday Committee has set events for Monday, Jan. 19 at the Multipurpose Center (309 Cora Street). The celebration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a prayer breakfast, includes health screenings and plate lunches from Reggie’s Soul Food starting at 11:00 a.m., and ends with a commemorative program at 4:00 p.m.  KATC

  • Lafayette Parish School System Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr. was named among 30 nationwide for the 2025–26 Superintendent to Watch recognition by the National School Public Relations Association on Monday, Jan. 12. Boulet and community partners raised the America250 flag at City Hall to launch a yearlong celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
