- ➤ Lafayette officials announced parade routes, closures and prohibited items for Mardi Gras season; barricades will be in place (Feb. 5 until after the Feb. 7 parade and repositioned on Feb. 12 until Feb. 17) while streets close one hour ahead of events to ease traffic, so residents should plan ahead and call the Lafayette Police for help.
