  • Since January, volunteers from Harvest Call and Catholic Charities have been repairing storm-damaged homes in Acadia, St. Landry, and Lafayette parishes to help residents affected by Hurricane Delta and earlier storms.   • St. Paul Catholic Church will mark 115 years of serving Lafayette’s African American community on Saturday, March 14 at 4 p.m. with a celebration mass and reception at the Cathedral of St. John.  KATC

  • At a Shop Rite on Ambassador Caffery Parkway, an employee said gas prices jumped (from $2.21 to $2.99) on March 4 amid a national rise linked to the Iran conflict, impacting local drivers.  KATC

HEALTH NEWS

  • Due to an equipment malfunction at its water distribution site, Port Barre has issued a boil water advisory, requiring residents to boil their water until the issue is resolved. Similar advisories were recently issued in Abbeville while repairs restored water service in Franklin and Estherwood.  News 15
