- ➤ Funeral arrangements for influential Lafayette businessman and award-winning bodybuilder Lloyd 'Red' Lerille were announced after he passed away on March 14. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on March 22 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church—visitation is set for March 21 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Martin & Castille's downtown location. News 15
- ➤ The Library Control Board approved the design for the new Northeast Regional Library on Monday in Lafayette Parish, ending days of stalled talks; the 20,000-square-foot facility—shaped by public input—will begin construction in 2026 and finish in 2028. KATC

- ➤ Joseph Kolwe from St. Cecilia Catholic School and Caroline Andrus from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School won the third through fifth and sixth through eighth grade bees at the 2025 Kiwanis Regional Spelling Bee held Friday at South Louisiana Community College — Andrus will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee with travel sponsored by Kiwanis.
