- ➤ Red Lerille, a local fitness icon and former Mr. America who owned Red's Health and Racquet Club, died on March 14 and was honored at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary, Mother of the Church on March 22 as friends, family and club members watched his procession pass the club. His son Mark Lerille said the gym will continue his legacy—highlighting his lifelong commitment to fitness and faith. The Advocate

- ➤ 68-year-old Glenn Tujague lost his home in a fire on January 24 at about 9:30 a.m. on Albarado Road—caused by an overloaded electrical unit that set a nearby camper ablaze—and now he lives out of his car and plans to sell his vehicle and motorcycle as he seeks public help. KLFY

- ➤ Slide guitarist Sonny Landreth, who grew up in Breaux Bridge and now lives in Lafayette, learned early to not take a gig for granted after nearly missing a chance with Bob Dylan and recording a tape that ended up with Eric Clapton. He will celebrate Clapton's upcoming 80th birthday at an invitation-only party on March 29 at Battersea Arts Center in London. The Advocate
