Couret Farms will host its Spring Market on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event — featuring more than 70 vendors and food trucks — will take place on the historic grounds outside the Couret Farmhouse at 300 Flores Court.

No injuries were reported when five people were displaced by an apartment fire Tuesday afternoon on the 400 block of Failla Road (investigators say a candle in a bedroom sparked the blaze) as firefighters contained it in 15 minutes.

Lafayette Travel launched the EatLafayette app today at a membership luncheon, offering locals and visitors a free tool to explore hundreds of locally owned restaurants, live event listings, and curated food trails (including the popular Po-boy Trail).

Regional gas prices rose on Monday to $3.79 per gallon after rising from $3.59 last week, as traders factored in oil supply concerns and a busy spring drive.

Analysts expect prices to increase another 20 to 30 cents per gallon in the coming weeks.
