- ➤ Nearly 700 Louisiana Guardsmen from the Tiger Brigade are being honored today at 11 a.m. at the University of Louisiana Convention Center in Lafayette as they prepare to deploy overseas. After training in Texas, these citizen-soldiers will spend more than a year away to support U.S. military missions in Europe, Africa — and the Middle East, marking their fourth overseas deployment since 9/11.
