GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nearly 700 Louisiana Guardsmen from the Tiger Brigade are being honored today at 11 a.m. at the University of Louisiana Convention Center in Lafayette as they prepare to deploy overseas. After training in Texas, these citizen-soldiers will spend more than a year away to support U.S. military missions in Europe, Africa — and the Middle East, marking their fourth overseas deployment since 9/11.  The Daily Advertiser

  • LSU football quarterback Colin Hurley rejoined the team after fully recovering from a January car crash. He surprised teammates at Saturday's spring practice and is now focusing on football and academics — showing his commitment and the strong support from LSU's staff.  The Daily Advertiser
