Lafayette High sophomore Michelle Damez won the 25th annual Games of Acadiana T-shirt design contest and her artwork will appear on a special edition T-shirt sold at the Birthday Bash on May 31—proceeds will benefit Miles Perret Cancer Services.

On Sunday, the 38th Annual Zydeco Extravaganza filled Blackham Coliseum with zydeco dancers, food vendors, and live music from artists like Keith Frank and Geno Delafose.

Organizers said the event — called Zydeco Coachella — also featured cultural exhibits and youth programs to keep Creole traditions alive.
