- ➤ Yesterday, Memorial Day services were held at Moncus Park with a Run for Heroes benefitting the Mark W. Graham Foundation. Community members—veterans, families and supporters alike—gathered to honor local heroes. The Advocate
- ➤ Catholic Charities of Acadiana is launching a summer volunteer drive to help neighbors with hunger, homelessness, storms, and unsafe housing. New volunteers including families, church groups, students, and businesses can sign up to work at St. Joseph Diner, FoodNet Food Bank, Disaster Response, and Rebuilding Together Acadiana. KATC

- ➤ On Memorial Day, a gas grill fire spread to a home on Harvest Point Circle (off LA 93) in Scott, but the homeowner quickly put out the flames before firefighters arrived at 10:30 a.m. News 15

- ➤ The Cajun Heartland State Fair is underway at CAJUNDOME grounds through May 31, featuring AMP Midway rides, free family attractions and daily live music. Admission is ($5 for ages 6 and up) and free parking is available at Cajun Field. News 15
