- ➤ Early Memorial Day morning, state police reported a multi-vehicle crash on I-10 east near Scott that killed a Dodge Charger driver and injured two others — I-10 east was closed near Duson for several hours before reopening around 7:30 a.m. News 15

- ➤ Coffeeweed Cottage, a much-loved coffee shop at Simcoe Street and Poydras Street, is facing likely closure as owner Denise Champagne struggles with running a small business as a single mother. The shop will stay open until a new buyer is found—Champagne hopes the new owner will invest in the community. News 15

- ➤ Holy Family Catholic School in Lafayette honored retiring principal Rogers Griffin after 26 years of leading the school through a turnaround that increased enrollment from 75 to over 300 students—leaving his legacy for new principal Loretta Williams-Durand.
