  • Camp Inspire launched this month on Lafayette’s Northside and now serves 60 to 100 children daily with food, activities, and structure — supported by community donations and local groups. Led by veteran and retired teacher Joyce Gaymon, the camp provides a safe haven for kids throughout the summer.  KATC

  • A motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after colliding with a car on Verot School Road at Aymar Road near Pinhook Road on June 20 at 3:15 p.m.—the Lafayette Police Department said—during the evening rush hour.  News 15

  • Contractor Josh Clements of Clements Construction said documents for walkway covers and a gym floor at Judice Middle were forged to look like his submission + LPSS has turned the matter over to police while the licensing board reviews more records.  The Current

  • Lafayette City Marshal Reggie Thomas will appear tonight on KLFY+ at 9:30 p.m. on Acadiana Crimestoppers, where he explains his office's expansion, its rare accreditation, and new duties like covering parks and schools under Mayor-President Monique Blanco Boulet's plan.  KLFY

HEALTH NEWS

  • South Louisiana Community College will launch a new Health Studies Internship in fall to give hands-on training for non-clinical healthcare jobs, enrolling up to 25 students (covering fields like operations, strategy and outreach).
