- ➤ The village of Loreauville held its first annual Lemonade Day on Saturday as kids set up stands at the park, fire station, and homes to sell lemonade and treats. Mayor Brad Clifton—chair of the Loreauville Community Project—said 26 vendors participated and organizers plan another event next year. KLFY
- ➤ Friends and family gathered Sunday at Rock 'N' Bowl to honor local sound engineer Matt Peters (who died by suicide in January) and to remember his impact on the local music scene. The fundraiser featured live music and a silent auction to support his daughter Kasey's (college plans) future education. KATC

- ➤ A vehicle crashed into a local tattoo shop Saturday in the 2000 block of Johnston Street after failing to stop at a stop sign, hitting a pedestrian riding an electric scooter and striking a worker; both were taken to a local hospital — property owner Mary Castille said the shop will rebuild and host fundraiser events for the injured worker's bills. - ➤ Jacoby Landry became Lafayette’s first local owner of the 55-year-old Northgate Mall and began major repairs—fixing leaks and air conditioners—to secure the building for current tenants. - ➤ Magnolia Water’s takeover in Lafayette Parish has led to significant sewage rate hikes for many customers, with bills rising from less than $25 to nearly $75 a month—a 200% increase in some areas.
