Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 6th of July.
Good morning, Lafayette.
A University of Louisiana at Lafayette professor became the first known Louisianan to reach all 50 state high points after a 29-day solo climb that ended on June 17 on Mount McKinley in Denali National Park (he carried an American flag for the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence).
Sunday storms left fallen trees in Lafayette and power outages in Youngsville that caused low water pressure when the water plant was affected.
Crews restored power by 7 p.m. but continue repairs, so some residents still face low water pressure today.
