- ➤ Festival International de Louisiane raised $2,500 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana by selling its collectible festival pin—50 cents from each sale supported housing, meals and emotional support for families of critically ill or injured children. The Daily Advertiser
- ➤ Courtesy Automotive Group and UL Lafayette hosted their annual Training 4 Life Fun Day at Blackham Coliseum for several hundred children from local Boys & Girls Clubs and about one hundred volunteers who guided them through interactive activities and mentorship opportunities. The event featured fitness, arts and crafts, local athletic performances, and a talent show while admission was free but registration was required through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana. KLFY
- ➤ Dustin Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation is preparing for its 5th Annual Back to School Supply Drive as volunteers gathered in a warehouse off Bertrand Drive to assemble 1,200 backpacks filled with school supplies — the drive will support local students with essential materials. News 15

- ➤ Lafayette Utilities System completed a full review of its water service lines—finding no lead, galvanized or unverified lines present. The inspections, done from September–October 2024 and March–April 2025, met the EPA’s revised Lead and Copper Rules finalized on October 16th, 2024. KATC
- ➤ Lafayette Consolidated Government finished its new emergency preparedness plan to guide flood responses after deadly floods in Texas killed at least 80 people. Homeland Security official Chad Sonnier said the Vermilion is less likely to surge like the Guadalupe—using flood gauges and a tiered plan with rec centers for up to 1,900 residents if needed.
