ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Lafayette tourism officials voted to start talks with ULL to buy land at the corner of Cajundome Boulevard and West Congress Street to build a 150,000 square foot indoor sports complex that will have 10 basketball courts and 20 volleyball courts. The project is estimated to cost $35—40 million and will be funded by a 2% tourism improvement tax collected from local hotels, which is expected to bring 140,000 visitors and 30,000 hotel room stays each year.
