  • A recent memorial mass for Charlene Richard—The Little Cajun Saint—was held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard after the Vatican approved a petition by local church leaders, moving her closer to sainthood.  News 15

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Air quality across Louisiana is rated good today with an AQI of 35, showing little risk for health. Some cities like Metairie, River Ridge and Chalmette have very low particle levels, while regions along the lower Mississippi—known as Cancer Alley—face higher risks from nearby petrochemical plants.  The Daily Advertiser

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Lafayette City Marshal's Office adopted Holy Family School to improve student safety and will help with student crossings, perform a full security assessment, and work with school leaders to add recommended safety measures—actions that build on the department's ongoing role in enhancing community school safety.  The Advocate
  • Louisiana State Police Troop I is hosting an open house today for anyone interested in joining as a State Trooper — visitors can meet current troopers, learn about training and benefits, and have their questions answered between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Troop I.  KATC
