GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lafayette Consolidated Government has launched a search for the next fire chief after Robert P. Benoit retired after 46 years of service, and Deputy Fire Chief John P. The recruitment process will span local to national candidates with a written exam in about 90 days and applications due by 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 3.  KATC
  • Investigators reported that former Mayor-President Josh Guillory's administration violated state and federal laws by removing a spoil bank along the Vermilion River without proper permits and agreements—actions that spurred an auditor's review.
