- ➤ Off The Hook will open its Lafayette location in the former Viva La Waffle space at 101 Liberty Ave after obtaining a certificate of occupancy from Lafayette Consolidated Government. - ➤ This fall, Lafayette invites visitors to enjoy a free three-day Festivals Acadiens et Creoles event that features live music, crafts, food, and cultural demonstrations to celebrate local Cajun and Creole traditions—residents can also paddle on the Vermilion River, join food tours sampling local flavors, and view art exhibits at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. - ➤ Lafayette Consolidated Government has launched a search for the next fire chief after Robert P. Benoit retired after 46 years of service, and Deputy Fire Chief John P.
