A Fat Pat’s Kitchen will be built on the south side near Acadiana Mall after Lafayette Consolidated Government approved a $2.6 million permit at 6004 Johnston St.—Chase Group Construction is set to lead the project that includes a restaurant and adjoining space for a future tenant; the 1.4-acre property was bought last November for under $1 million by a group including Rotolo’s CEO Mitch Rotolo.

Off the Hook, a Cajun seafood chain, is planning to open a new restaurant in Lafayette and expects to open 4 to 5 locations each year.

Lafayette Parish Schools launched the Core Report, Louisiana’s first accountability system that measures school performance using four values—Growth, Opportunity, Culture, and Safety.
