- ➤ St. Thomas More High School students held their annual Canstruction food drive — collecting over 20,000 canned goods to support Catholic Charities of Acadiana and help fight hunger in nearby parishes. - ➤ Festivals Acadiens et Créoles is hosting a Volunteer Orientation on October 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the large covered pavilion in Girard Park to review assignments, hand out parking passes, and answer questions—volunteers are needed for recycling and gorilla pin sales at the three-day festival from October 10–12.
