- ➤ Office Hours Sandwich Shop at 2303 W. Pinhook Road in mid-city Lafayette will close Friday after a 20-year run—owners Aaron and Rene Miller said the eatery will end service and invite customers to stop by for more details. The Advocate

- ➤ The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is hosting its two-day 'Paint the Town Red' competition during Homecoming Week as local businesses and schools decorate their buildings. - ➤ The National EMS Academy is offering a 12-week hybrid EMT training program at campuses including Lafayette with tuition reimbursement for students who sign a two-year service agreement with Acadian Ambulance Service. - ➤ The 200 block of W. St. Mary Boulevard between Johnston Street and Brook Avenue will be closed October 20 to 22 for work on the South Gravity Sewer Lift Station project by LUS’s contractor NCMC, LLC. Detour routes have been posted and local access remains, and drivers are advised to plan ahead (detours include Brook Avenue, Albert Street, Calder Street, Johnston Street, W.
