- ➤ A car hit a utility box overnight at the Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Verot School Road intersection in Lafayette, leaving power out for several hours while crews work to replace the box and traffic officers manually direct vehicles away. News 15

- ➤ LSU football lost 31-24 to Vanderbilt on Oct 18 (the Tigers fell out of the top 10) and now must win its next four SEC games to try to remain in the top 15. Experts say if other teams win, LSU could drop into the top 20 in the upcoming polls. The Daily Advertiser
