COMMUNITY NEWS

  • AOC Community Media announced Monday that it launched its new streaming app — now available on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Google Play Store — which lets Lafayette viewers stream AOC 1, AOC 2 and premiere local shows live and on demand. The app is designed for easy access to local content and to strengthen community ties.  KATC
  • Grammy winners and Louisiana music legends will perform at The Brass Room in Lafayette on November 5 to raise money for Thanksgiving meals for families in need; all donations will go directly to the cause. Pillows of Hope & Artists Who Care present the event from 6:30 to 9 p.m., featuring Lee Allen Zeno's band & Jeffery Broussard's trio along with RJ Jackson’s and MOJO’s performances.  KATC

  • Louisiana residents can choose affordable internet with prices starting at $30 monthly from providers such as Spectrum, Xfinity, AT&T, and Hughesnet.   • Stuller Inc. announced that longtime CEO Matt Stuller will step down as Danny Clark becomes CEO effective Jan. 1 — with COO Belit Myers moving into the role of company president at that time.   • Roy Motors Chevrolet celebrated 90 years of serving Acadiana with a car & truck show that offered hot dogs and apple pie to community members at the dealership. The event reflected the long-standing service to St. Landry Parish and honored the dealership's legacy.  KATC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lafayette councilman Kenneth Boudreaux will raise concerns at today's 5:30 p.m. council meeting—he says the community did not get enough input—about returning Mardi Gras parades to downtown Jefferson Street. The parade route change was announced by Lafayette Consolidated Government and will take effect in 2026.  News 15

HEALTH NEWS

  • Shots for Tots returns on Saturday, November 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Children’s Specialty Center on the campus of Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital. The program is available for Medicaid recipients, uninsured individuals, or American Indian or Alaskan Native families at a cost of $10 per child—no appointment is needed and parents should bring previous immunization records if available.  KATC

SPORTS NEWS

  • LSU football fired head coach Brian Kelly on Oct. 26, sparking strong reactions from local high school coaches and recruits who stressed the challenges of loyalty and the business side of football. The coaches, including voices from Acadiana and Carencro, noted they hope a leader like Nick Saban or Frank Wilson will bring a winning turnaround—reflecting deep local passion.  The Daily Advertiser

  • The LSWA football poll after Week 9 shows Central of Baton Rouge joining the Class 5A poll & Tioga entering the Class 4A poll while Lafayette Christian Academy moves to No. 1 in Class 2A by overtaking Ouachita Christian.
