  • Brandon Little, a Lafayette native, started Artefkt Watches in Detroit after working with luxury brands and study programs. He raised $131,000 through a Kickstarter campaign and began shipping his hand-assembled watches in August — a sign of his company’s growth.  The Advocate

  • Festival International de Louisiane has launched a fundraiser to cover rising costs for booking international acts—costs that have grown to nearly 30% of its $300,000 budget—and plans to create new showcases for Louisiana artists ahead of next spring’s 40th anniversary celebration.  The Advocate

SPORTS NEWS

  • LSU's defense made a zone coverage error on Nov. 29 that allowed Oklahoma to score a 58‐yard go‐ahead touchdown—Oklahoma won the game 17–13 despite LSU's earlier interceptions.  The Daily Advertiser
  • Southern snapped a nine game losing streak by beating Grambling 28—27 Saturday at the Caesars Superdome in the Bayou Classic. Grambling extended its streak while Southern secured its fourth trophy with key plays like a 51 yard touchdown and three sacks.  The Daily Advertiser
  • Westminster Christian Academy beat district rival St. Edmund 52–22 Friday night at Crusader Field to secure its first-ever state semifinal berth while remaining undefeated at 12–0—coach Byron Porter praised his team's explosive plays and strong defense and said they will face a semifinal opponent at the Superdome next week.  The Advocate
  • Lafayette Christian Academy beat Catholic High 49-14 in Friday night's Division III Select playoff game at Knight Field. A strong third quarter set the tone — the Knights now will face the Dunham Tigers in the semifinals.  The Advocate
  • Louisiana football will clash with Louisiana-Monroe later this week in their season finale as the injury-riddled Ragin’ Cajuns need a win to secure bowl eligibility. Quarterback Lunch Winfield will lead the team despite missing nine offensive linemen—while ULM’s Aiden Armenta aims to boost his season with a strong performance in town.  The Daily Advertiser
