- ➤ The Sonic Christmas Parade rolled through downtown Lafayette Sunday, Dec. 7, with riders tossing candy and beads to excited onlookers as local high school dancers and band members sparked festive holiday cheer. The Advocate

- ➤ In September the median home sold for $230,000 in Lafayette Parish, an 8% drop from August's $250,000. Single-family home prices fell from $256,000 to $235,000 while condo prices declined from $157,750 to $142,500 with recorded sales rising to 287. The Daily Advertiser

- ➤ The Daily Advertiser opened a vote for Athlete of the Week covering Dec. 1–7 with nominees from local high schools in football, basketball, and soccer — voting closed at 9 a.m. Friday. Community members nominated standout athletes from Lafayette and nearby parishes. The Daily Advertiser
- ➤ The Lafayette Christian Knights lost 49-48 to the Dunham Tigers on Friday in the Division III select semifinals; the Tigers secured the win with a two-point conversion and will face Calvary Baptist for the championship on Thursday. The Advocate
- ➤ UL Ragin’ Cajuns will face Delaware in the 68 Ventures Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN as they ride a four-game winning streak and aim to build on an 8-6 bowl record. The Advocate
- ➤ Calvary Baptist defeated Notre Dame 34-28 in overtime Friday (at Gardiner Memorial Stadium). Coach Rodney Guin said his team made a decisive goal line stand that stopped a final scoring run and sealed the win. The Advocate
- ➤ UL men's basketball, missing key players, battled UNC-Wilmington at the Cajundome on Saturday and briefly led with a Dariyus Woodson three (final score 70-63) as injuries challenged the team. The Advocate
- ➤ UL fell 61-54 to Morehead State on Sunday at the Cajundome + the loss drops the Cajuns to 0-9 as they take a finals break before meeting Texas State on Dec. 17. The Advocate
- ➤ LSU will face Houston in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 27 at 8:15 p.m. (NRG Stadium hosts the postseason contest) as the Tigers, who secured bowl eligibility with a win over Arkansas, aim for a bowl victory. The Daily Advertiser
