  • Pamplona Tapas Bar in downtown Lafayette hosted its Miracle Christmas Pop-Up on Thursday, Dec. 11. The restaurant featured over-the-top holiday decor, a themed cocktail menu & a $5 fee that benefited local non-profits.  The Advocate

  • The University of Louisiana at Lafayette held its 2025 fall commencement at the Cajundome on Saturday, Dec. 19 in Lafayette, where graduates received their diplomas in a traditional ceremony.  The Advocate

SPORTS NEWS

  • The UL women’s basketball team lost 76-58 to Southern Miss Saturday after briefly leading by three points (the turnaround began with a 14-0 run). UL remains winless at 0-11, and the Cajuns will try for their first victory against Dillard on Dec. 29.  The Advocate
  • On Saturday at Lafayette Christian (the inaugural Acadiana Senior Bowl), Team Heritage won 21 to 0 as strong defenses limited opposing offenses and standout plays by quarterback Khyrie Francisco and co-MVP Montana Brown impressed college scouts present; the game featured key interceptions and a blocked field goal and drew over 400 spectators.  The Advocate
  • UL men's basketball ended its 10-game losing streak Saturday with a 76 to 62 win over UL-Monroe at Fant-Ewing Coliseum after assistant coach Josh White filled in during head coach Quannas White's suspension — De’Vion Lavergne scored a career-high 16 as the team will meet Norfolk State on Dec. 28.  The Advocate
