- ➤ The Lafayette Fire Department reminds residents that fireworks are banned inside the city and may be used in unincorporated areas between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. with usage permitted until 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, and urges strict safety measures to prevent injuries & fires. The Advocate
- ➤ Local nonprofits and city partners provided warmth and shelter Tuesday night as cold temperatures threatened Acadiana’s unhoused, with ARCH’s ShareHouse initiative collecting donations to supply vital items (including blankets and heaters). - ➤ Today, Dutch Bros opens its first Lafayette location at 5711 Johnston St.—serving specialty coffee, Nitro Cold Brew, lemonade and Rebel energy drink—and will operate from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday with extended weekend hours.
